Rene Lalique was the foremost Jeweller and Glass Artist of the Art Nouveau movement in Paris.
Much of his work is now housed in over 50 museums worldwide.
He became the most sought-after Jeweller in Paris.
Paris is still full of Art Nouveau signs and posters.
The best place to see lots of Lalique pieces is in the Musee d'Orsay on the left Bank of the River Seine.
It is situated on Quai Anatole-France and the nearest Metro stations are Varenne and Tuileries with about a few minutes walk
from either of those stations
Although the Musee d'Orsay looks a little pompous from the outside, it was built in the most active years of the Art Nouveau Movement.
It is the largest collection of Art Nouveau and other Arts of the second half of the 19th Century in the World and accordingly
has a large display of French Arts & Crafts of the period..
You will definitely need one of the free orientation Maps to find your way around this Temple to the Arts.
It takes at least several hours to see anything like a comprehensive tour.
Unmissable is the best word for the bookshop and the cafeteria is excellent too.
